ILIAS Conference 2022: Diverse – Innovative – Secure

Kruse, Fabian [Fabian] - 29. Aug 2022, 19:19

Diverse, innovative, secure - that's how e-learning works with ILIAS and that's also the motto of the 21st International ILIAS Conference, which will finally happen again as a live event next week after a two-year break from Corona. Our largest community meeting will take place in Bologna this year. There, ILIAS professionals will show in several workshops, tutorials and presentations how they implement complex learning scenarios and implement attractive learnings with on-board tools - and where they elegantly extend the platform with external solutions.

This year, the conference will be opened by the keynote speech of Anja C. Wagner, who will look at the future of work and learning beyond all buzzwords. The way forward cannot simply be the digitalisation of outdated analogue processes. Instead, the potential of the network society must be used and further developed.

At the conference, contributions from companies, universities, international organisations and the public sector will show how this can look in practice. For example, Günter Sölva and Stefan Kontschieder from the South Tyrolean provincial administration will present in their demo how they use ILIAS as part of their digitisation strategy.

Central to this is the connection of the LMS via various interfaces to the digital South Tyrolean citizen network. A quick exchange of data and the documentation of learning experiences is thus possible - even if the employees change their workplace in the meantime.

For many years, NATO has relied on ILIAS as part of its e-learning offerings. At the conference, Lyubomir Bistrekov will show how the NATO DEEP eAcademy uses ILIAS in Iraq. The current solution is based on ILIAS 7.2 and can be used entirely in Arabic.

ILIAS has become increasingly important in the corporate sector not only since Corona. At the ILIAS Conference in Bologna, Markus Zimmermann and Claudia Glander show how the organisational units offered by ILIAS are used at DEVK Versicherungen to map complex approval scenarios. This makes it easy to involve managers and works councils in applying for and approving continuing education offers.

The contributions presented here are only examples of the breadth of the conference - and of the creativity of the ILIAS community. In another blog post on Wednesday, we will highlight a few more programme items of the ILIAS Conference 2022. The last remaining tickets for the conference are still available here.
