Plugins and Extensions
On this page you find information about available and supported plugins and add-ons for ILIAS. Please note that these extensions and plugins are not part of the ILIAS software package. They have to be downloaded and installed additionally.
There is no warranty that the plugins published here are working flawlessly on your installation! Make sure the selected plugin is compliant to your ILIAS version.
Using Plugins
A lot of existing plugins extend the functionality of ILIAS or allow to use external software within ILIAS.
Have a look at the data collection 'Extending ILIAS' to find the plugin(s) you need to complete your e-learning scenario with ILIAS.
We only offer plugins for currently maintained ILIAS versions. If you need a plugin for a deprecated ILIAS version, please contact the developer of the plugin.
For questions and suggestions we are offering a proper forum for 'Plugins and Add-ons'.
To report a bug of an existing plugin, please check the README of the plugin for the correct bug tracker and report it there!

If you want to …
- … add a new plugin as developer, please consult the Development Guide and contact our support team to get appropriate permissions for the data collection.
- ... suggest new plugins or extensions of existing ones, please use the Feature Wiki.
User and Developer Groups
For some plugins, a community of users and developers exist. In these groups, experiences with the respective plugin, suggestions for improvement and extensions are discussed and exchanged.
You can find more information in the respective group.

Plugin Help
The Plugin Help provides context-sensitive and role-based assistance tailored specifically to plugins. Clicking the help icon (question mark) takes users directly to the relevant help chapter, based on their current view and assigned permissions.
Please note that the help package and user manual are currently only available in German.
Install the Help Package
- Download the help package for the plugin. Do not rename the file!
- In your ILIAS installation, navigate to Administration > System Settings and Maintenance > Online Help.
- Upload the ZIP file as an online help package.
- Click “Activate” next to the title of the help package.
- Adjust the order of help packages so that the plugin help is placed in second position.

Import the Manual
- Download the learning module. Do not rename the file!
- In your ILIAS installation, go to the location where you want to import the module.
- Click “Add New Object” and select “ILIAS Learning Module”.
- Under “2. Import ILIAS Learning Module”, upload the ZIP file.
- Click on “Import”.
