The UI Clinic is a place where you can get advice about building nice user interfaces, offering great user experience and accessibility and using or extending the ILIAS UI framework.
The on-demand consulation-hours are offered by Kristina Auerswald, Kendra Grotz, Yvonne Seiler, Nils Haagen, Timon Amstutz and Richard Klees, as a service of the coordinators of the ILIAS UI Framework together with UI/UX/Ally-experts of the community and regular contributors to the UI Framework.
If you have questions like
- I think we need a new UI component to solve problem XYZ and have an idea how it could look. What do you think of that idea and how would the component fit in the UI Framework? Is this component accessible?
- I want to draft a feature request but I do have this UI/UX problem. How may I solve it? What do I have to consider regarding accessibility?
- I don't understand how component ABC is supposed to work. What is the intended usage? Does it fit my scenario?
Please understand, that this is a voluntary offer on both ends. You are neither required to come to the UI Clinic before you use the UI framework, implement a feature or create a PR for the UI framework, nor are we capable of solving every UI problem for you. The UI Clinic also won't be the place to make any decisions or sell ideas. Instead we try to give some easy access to our existing knowledge and try to make our design and thought processes regarding User Interface/User Experience/Accessibility (UI/UX/Ally) and the UI Framework more transparent. If you just want to join us to listen, you are of course invited as well.

- Choose a date and we will confirm the date as soon as possible.
- Come to the next consultation hour (every Wednesday before Jour Fixe from 10h30 to 11h30.) or we can make an individual appointment with you.
