Installing ILIAS from Github

As soon as you have prepared your web server and installed all necessary third-party software, you can install the ILIAS itself and complete the installation. Instead of downloading the ILIAS source code package from Sourceforge, you can also install ILIAS by cloning out the sourcecode from the ILIAS Repository on Github: https://github.com/ILIAS-eLearning/ILIAS
 
The main advantage of this way of installing ILIAS is that it offers a kind of autoupdate for updating to future releases and versions. This reduces the workload for maintaining the installation and allows to update easily to the latest state of a release.
