Open and display a remote desktop in ILIASHi guys.
I've got a question.
We are planning an e-learning for data security, by using ILIAS.
Planned are exercises, in which the participants shall perform the exercises on a remote testsystem.
To do this, a remote desktop connection has to be established by ILIAS and to be displayed.
Our provider for the ILIAS server has never faced that challenge.
Any idea, if this is possible with ILIAS?
With or without additional coding ?Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

FreeRDP-Client as HTML-LMHey there!
I haven't tried this but my first throw would be to embed a web based RDP viewer into a HTML-Learning module.
Have a look here: http://freerdp.net/
Cheers,
Max

FreeRDP-Client as HTML-LMHi Willi!
You're welcome!
Unfortunately, as I said, I have not tried this. From what I see on the first search result coming up for "RDP webclient", to me it sounds a lot like pointing an address to a machine with a running server demon they mention in the documentation. So such a thing could even be done with a weblink. For a learning module, I would think it's a matter of an IFrame in a simple HTML-Document.
Maybe the simplest thing would be to ask your provider if they can make sense out of the documentation at the freerdp-website. If that fails or is not possible, please contact me at mbecker@databay.de * **.
(* Disclaimer: We'd be offering professional support, meaning to throw actual competency at the problem of setting up a prototype to figure out if that is possible and makes sense, however, that won't be free.)
(** Rock bottom cheap, though.)Cheers,
Max
