While we are all still hard at work testing ILIAS 10, the developers of ILIAS are already looking to the future and ILIAS 11. That means it is time for the Big Project Jour Fixe, the first milestone in the development of any new ILIAS version. Big Project Jour Fixes serve to plan and coordinate larger development projects that will have a lasting effect on the platform. The focus is not on concrete feature suggestions, but rather more extensive plans that either require a lot of time and resources or a large number of developers.

The beginning of September (05.09 & 06.09) saw around 200 ILIAS users, developers and interested participants meet up in beautiful Graz to discuss our open-source learning management system. This 23rd International ILIAS Conference marked the first time that the ILIAS community had met in Austria.

The International ILIAS Conference is the most important event of the year in the ILIAS community. At 05 and 06 September 2024, the ILIAS Conference comes to Austria for the first time. Our hosts will be the axtesys GmbH and the NexxaCon GmbH in Graz.
We would like to invite all ILIAS users, and all those who are interested in e-learning generally, to actively help shape the programme for the 23rd ILIAS Conference. Submit your programme contributions, your knowledge, know-how and expertise, and share it with your ILIAS colleagues and friends.

The 22nd International ILIAS conference took place on the 7th and 8th September 2023 at the University of Cologne, bringing our community back to the place where everything began – 25 years after the first version of ILIAS went live.

On 21 June 2023, the ILIAS open source e-Learning e.V. has released an important security update for ILIAS 8 and 7. Among the security fixes mentioned in the release notes[1] [2] there is one that deserves special attention.
