3.4.0 (stable)

Please note that this release includes a change of the permission settings of tests and surveys. In releases before 3.4.0_beta2 it has been possible to access tests and surveys with "visible" permission only. This has been fixed in 3.4.0_beta2. Please check if your test and survey objects have set the appropriate permissions.

ILIAS 3.4.0 contains the following features:

• PHP 5 and MySQL 4.1.x compliance. Please note the instructions for migrating from MySQL 4.0.x to MySQL 4.1.x.

• Learning objectives for courses (by Stefan Meyer)

• Possibilty to define start objects for courses (by Stefan Meyer).

• Usability in Course Management: several improvements in "Edit properties" menu (by Stefan Meyer)

• Possibility to edit roles inside repository (Stefan Meyer)

  Improvement of repository presentation (by Alexander Killing)

• Implemented internal links to certain repository items like surveys, tests, glossaries, ....

• Quick edit link in learning module presentation. Authors with the appropriate permission can edit a page in presentation mode by clicking on EDIT immediately (by Alexander Killing)

• Extension of stylesheet administration (by Alexander Killing)

• SCORM export of ILIAS Learning Modules (by A. Killing)

• Grouping of courses to avoid multiple registrations for groups of courses (by Stefan Meyer, Databay AG).

• Enhancements to user import facility:

  • Verify conflicts between user data in import file and database before importing

  • Insert/Update/Delete users

  • Assign/Detach users to local roles

  • Support additional user data properties

  • Provide a choice for handling conflicts between actions specified in the user data XML file and the contents of the ILIAS database: "Ignore on conflict", "Update on conflict".

• Fixed mime type determination on upload of learning modules/glossaries (some browsers pass "application/x-zip"). This solves the "Wrong file type" problem that occured in this case.
