ILIAS 5.3 is here!

After many months of developing and testing ILIAS 5.3, we’re happy to announce the release of the first stable version. It includes 124 new features, catering to universities as much as to corporate and institutional users.
A few highlights:
- Improved privacy protection thanks to the new Staff view. This view allows supervisors to access the learning progress views of their enrolled staff without accessing any course data of other participants.
- Competence Management has been vastly improved and is now easier to use than ever. It also got a fresh new look.
- Role-Dependent Starting Point: Administrators can set up different starting points to welcome users in ILIAS, depending on their role.
- New HTML5-based SCORM Offline Player.
- The completely oberhauled Calendar offers several new views and functions. Travel directions and course materials can be downloaded for all upcoming events with the click of a button.
- Portfolios can be created much easier and faster thanks to a vastly improved Portfolio Template.
- The new page editor element "Column Layout" allows you to create attractive and responsive multi-column content easily among course and category pages.

You can download version 5.3 here. Also, our demo installation is already running on ILIAS 5.3. We will present this version also at our booth at LEARNTEC in Karlsruhe from January 30 to February 1! Hope to see you there!
