SIG Language Support Starts Working!

Suittenpointner, Florian [suittenpointner] - 15. Sep 2016, 11:25
There's a new SIG in town!

The Special Interest Group (SIG) "Language Support" has recently been established in order to expand the advantages and reduce the disadvantages in the way ILIAS currently supports multilingual audiences.

There's already a colorful array of participants, from companies using ILIAS and active language maintainers to programers who wrote ILIAS trunk functionality or plugins with regard to language support.
However, every additional participant is an enrichment, of course!

Topics that have been identified so far are, e.g.:
  • How to integrate a collaborative web-based translation management software into ILIAS?
  • How to gather data on what language variables have a high priority to be translated?
  • How to provide custom language packages for special target groups (e.g., "Simple German" or "Du-Form")?
So, in case you are dealing with multilinguality in ILIAS, don't hesitate to join us and introduce yourself in the "Interested Persons" data collection. Your ideas, experiences and opinions are warmly welcome.

The SIG can be found at http://www.ilias.de/docu/goto_docu_grp_5290.html.
