We are pleased about the numerous exciting contributions that have already been submitted for our ILIAS Conference in Bologna this year. However, as the time window was a bit too tight for some, the organising team has extended the call for papers by one week.

The new deadline for a submission is now Sunday, 22 May 2022.

Here is an overview of the topics:
  • Back to the Future
  • Diversity Management - ILIAS for Everyone
  • Multipliers – Your ILIAS Needs You!
  • Wild Card – tell us about that thing you have always wanted to tell the community about!

ILIAS is not affected by the currently reported security problem (CVE-2021-44228) for the library log4j, which is also used by ILIAS. The reason is that we use the older version 1.2.15 in ILIAS, which does not yet have the affected function, see also here.

Keywords: How to, ILIAS 5.0

Up until now, if you wanted to display content in columns which are adjacent to each other on a course or category page, you had no other option than to use layout tables. These tables, however, are not really suited to being displayed on mobile end devices and force the user to scroll horizontally on their small screens. It is much more user friendly if your content on ILIAS adjusts to fit the screen width of the device being used. Today's post will show you how to create such a responsive, multi-column layout in ILIAS 5.0 and 5.1 without using layout tables.
