Tester Guide
Following Up on Bugfixing
Status of a Bug
After creating or pushing a new bug report, it gets assigned to the responsible developer. This developer also gets informed about the bug by email so he can ask fro feedback if he needs any further information.
A list of all bugs reported by you can be seen on the Mantis page My View in the section Reported by Me. Here you can always see the status of ypur bug report.
- Blue = assigned: The bug has been assigned to the responsible developer and will be treated in due time.
- Pink = feedback: The developer set this status because he has an open question. Please be sure to open the bug report and provide the necessary information as soon as possible.
- Green = resolved: The bug has been fixed. A retest in TestRail is required now (see next paragraph!).
You can learn about the complete bugfixing process in the following diagram:
Resolved Bugs: Please Retest!
After fixing a bug, the responsible developer will set the bug's status in Mantis to "resolved" and the status in TestRail to "retest". Now, the tester needs to get active again: You need to make sure that the bug actually has been fixed! In order to do so, please execute the full test case once again.
As our testv platform only gets updated at night, please wait one day after the bugfix before retesting!
Should the bug still occur, please add a new test result with "failed" status. Reopen the bug report directly in Mantis and explain what happened in a comment.
