Page Translation

The "Page Translation" mode is useful for doing quickly partial translations of the system or to correct wrong translations. If it is enabled in the settings of your language and if you have "read" and "visibility" permissions on the languages folder, you will see a "Translation" link on the footer of each ILIAS page:

When you click on that link, a new page will open showing the translation page for all system text used on the page you were coming from:

The translation screen works like the edit screen of the language maintenance, but the list of entries is fixed to those shown on the previous page and can't be filtered.

The translation page is shown in a separate window. You may switch to the previous window to check the context in which a certain entry is used. If you don’t find a text in the translation table that is shown in the previous page, this text may be the title, description or content of a user created object and has to be translated in the edit mode of the object itself.

When you saved your changes you can close the translation window. Afterwards you may reload the original page to see the effect of your changes.
