How to Use LTI 1.3 as Consumer
- Create an LTI Object Repository.
- Write the title of the Object Repository.
- If you already have a provider you can select it. Otherwise, you can create a new onewith the following configuration (all the parameters should be provided by theprovider):
- Login URL: is the address of the external tool that ILIAS contacts to start theauthentication process.
- Initiate Login URL: is used to trigger the login flow from ILIAS toward theexternal tool.
- Initiate Login URL: is used to trigger the login flow from ILIAS toward theexternal tool.
- Public Key Type: defines how ILIAS retrieves the public key required to verifysigned messages from the external tool.
- URL (JSON Web Token): This field specifies the URL where the external toolpublishes its public keys in format.
- Support for Deep Linking: This option indicates whether the external toolsupports the Deep Linking workflow.
- Content URL: defines the endpoint of the external tool that is used to load orlaunch the selected content.
- Click on “Add Own Provider (not for all the Users)”.
- Now you should see the parameters which you must write in the providerconfiguration:
- Register the consumer in the Provider platform using those credentials.
- Go to “Settings”> “Object settings” and activate the object.
- Now if you go to “Content” tab and click on “Show content”, you should be able toaccess to the provider platform.
- Now we are going to show how to use the deep linking feature. You should go to“Settings” > “LTI provider settings”. You should see a new button called “Select”.
- When you click on “Select” you should see a pop-up window where there areelements which are under the shared object.
- Select each one that you want to consume and click on “Save”.
- Now, you will be redirected to the previous section where all the new consumersappear.
- You just have to activate the consumers as usual.
