Very important notes for MySQL 4.1.x users:

If you update from ILIAS 3.4.0 or 3.4.1 and already used MySQL 4.1.x: Due to a problem in the UTF-8 handling some extra update steps are necessary. Please <b><u>click on this link and follow the instructions</u></b>.

If you just plan to update from MySQL 4.0.x to MySQL 4.1.x please read our Migrating from MySQL 4.0.x to MySQL 4.1.x instructions.

Release 3.6.7 has been released on October 24, 2006.

Release 3.6.7 is a bugfix release and does not contain new features compared to former 3.6 releases. Please read the 3.6.0 release report for information about major changes and new features.

Information about first time installation can be found here. Support for MySQL 3.23.x is not included anymore.

Important note for Updates: Instructions for updating ILIAS can be found in section 3 of the general installation instructions. For major updates (e.g. 3.5.x -> 3.6.x) the safest proceeding is, to upgrade a copy of your productive system first and test whether everything works ok.

Fixed Bugs

  • Test & Assessment: Fixed privacy issues in test evaluation. User names of users in self assessment tests have been shown in the solution popup of essay questions. The tab for the evaluation for selected users was removed completely for self assessment tests because the search function could be used to identify the users in the test (2006-09-14, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Test & Assessment: Added patch to deal with missing questions in random tests. ILIAS looks for more existing questions and if no more question exists, the test will be finished instead of causing an application crash (2006-09-15, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Test & Assessment: Fixed Mantis bug #2045: View freetext answers: no scrollbars in popup window (2006-09-15, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Personal Profile: Fixed Mantis bug #2043: Picture upload doesn't work with opera. Changed the HTML forms from ENCTYPE="MULTIPART/FORM-DATA" to enctype="multipart/form-data" (2006-09-15, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Test & Assessment: Fixed an issue answering Java Applet Questions multiple times. The resulting points of the answers have been added and users could reach more than 100% of the available points for the answer (2006-09-17, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Survey: Fixed an issue with ordinal question phrases. Self created phrases could be used and changed/deleted by everyone with write permission to a question pool (2006-10-16, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Test & Assessment: Fixed a bug in the text gap representation of cloze questions. Usually the text gap field length is proportional to the maximum length of the solutions. Instead of the variable length only fixed length text gaps were used (2006-10-17, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Test & Assessment: Fixed Mantis bug #2122: Problem saving cloze questions without gaps. When a cloze questions was saved and no gap was added, the complete question text disappeared (2006-10-18, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Test & Assessment: Fixed Mantis bug #2120: Duplicating question pools for tests creates wrong meta data. On Duplication the duplicated question pool gets an extra suffix with the time and date of the duplication. This has not been entered in the metadata (2006-10-18, Helmut Schottmüller)

  • Core: Improved Tree Handling (Stefan Meyer)

  • Permissions: Fixed Mantis Bug #2038: Problems in permission settings for local roles in certain objects. (Alex Killing)
